Overwatch 2 is launching in ‘Early Access’ for PC and Xbox this October

As expected, Blizzard had a fairly major presence at the Xbox and Bethesda showcase. Not only did we get a good dose of Diablo IV gameplay, but a major Overwatch 2 reveal also took place. The game will now be free to play, and it'll be launching in Early Access for Xbox and PC in just a few months time.

A new Overwatch 2 trailer released at the showcase and we also got a quick cinematic teaser for Junker Queen, a new hero coming to Overwatch 2:

Blizzard will be revealing more about its next major hero, as well as other gameplay updates coming to Overwatch 2 ahead of launch, during its own stream next week, on the 16th of June.

Overwatch 2 will release as a free to play ‘Early Access' title on PC and Xbox Series X/S consoles later this year. So far, no early access plans have been announced for other platforms.

KitGuru Says: Many Overwatch players have questioned the need for Overwatch 2 and have lamented the idea of re-purchasing the game. Fortunately, the free to play model will make the transition a lot smoother and should sway a larger number of people to give the game a shot.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
