Sources confirm Knights of the Old Republic now being developed by Saber Interactive

Last week, Embracer confirmed that one of its AAA projects has recently transitioned studios. Now, sources have confirmed that the game is KOTOR Remake, which is now being developed by Saber Interactive.

Many of us put the puzzle pieces together already last week, as recent reports indicated that the project was having issues. Now, Jason Schreier has confirmed in a new Bloomberg report that Saber Interactive is now leading development on Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic.

Embracer said in its announcement last week that this particular project has not been delayed. However, as Schreier notes, a major project moving studios usually results in some slowdown. If no changes in direction are made, a source claimed the game is at least two years away.

Saber Interactive had already been working as a support studio on KOTOR Remake, so the team won't need to start over from scratch entirely, but the team might want to try some different ideas and make changes, and iteration takes time.
