Persona 5 is leaving the PlayStation Plus Collection in May

Just ahead of the PS5 launch in 2020, Sony revealed the PlayStation Plus Collection, a set of some of the best-selling PS4 titles free to claim for new PS5 owners with a PS+ subscription. The collection is still around and claimable today, but one of the biggest games is about to leave the library – Persona 5. 

This week, Sony has warned that Persona 5 will be leaving the PlayStation Plus Collection on the 11th of May. However, if you claim the game and add it to your library before then, you'll be able to continue playing it after that date – just as long as you have an active PS+ subscription.

The full set of games in the PlayStation Plus Collection includes:

• Batman: Arkham Knight
• Battlefield 1
• Bloodborne
• Call of Duty: Black Ops III – Zombies Chronicles Edition
• Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy
• Days Gone
• Detroit: Become Human
• Fallout 4
• Final Fantasy XV Royal Edition
• God of War
• Infamous Second Son
• Monster Hunter: World
• Mortal Kombat X
• Persona 5 – leaving May 11th 2022
• Ratchet and Clank
• Resident Evil 7 Biohazard
• The Last Guardian
• The Last of Us Remastered
• Until Dawn
• Uncharted 4: A Thief's End

As you can see, these were indeed some of the best games from the PS4 and Xbox One generation, and there is a good number of first-party Sony games thrown into the mix here. For now, only Persona 5 is leaving the collection, and there have been no announcements for other games leaving the collection.

KitGuru Says: Claiming all the games I didn't already own in this collection was pretty much the first thing I did after setting up my PS5. It is a shame to see a major game like Persona 5 leaving, but anyone with a PS+ subscription and a PS5 console can still claim it before it goes.
