MSI has been making gaming PCs for a while now, but none of them are quite like the new MAG Trident S 5M. Instead of focusing on packing a good CPU+GPU combo for native gaming, MSI designed the Trident S 5M for cloud and mobile gaming, offering a compact solution that looks more like a console than anything else.
By default, the system comes with MSI Game Stadium (controller compatible), allowing users to run Android apps and games using the MSI APP Player, or play Xbox games through the cloud via the Xbox app. Even If you don't have an active Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription, the system comes with a 30-day free trial. In addition, the Multi-Instance Manager is essential for those who enjoy playing multiple games simultaneously, as it allows users to run different games in different windows.
On the inside, this 2.6-litre system packs a B300 motherboard with either an AMD Ryzen 3 5300G, a Ryzen 5 5500G or a Ryzen 7 5700G. For the memory, the system has 2x DDR4 3200MHz SO-DIMMs for a maximum of 64GB of memory. Moreover, there are 2x PCIe 3.0 M.2 slots for SSDs, as well as a 2.5-inch drive bay. As for the OS, it uses Windows 11 Home.
Connectivity options include BT 4.2, Wi-Fi 5, and multiple USB ports, including a USB-C 3.2 Gen2 and a USB-A 3.2 Gen2 on the front I/O and a USB-A 2.0, a USB-A 3.2 Gen2 on the rear I/O. Additionally, there's a 1G LAN port, a VGA port, an HDMI 2.0 interface, a DisplayPort 1.4, a 3.5mm mic jack and a 3.5mm audio combo jack.
According to MSI, the MAG Trident S 5M is now available in various regions.
