Pokemon Scarlet and Violet games announced for late 2022

Given that Pokemon Legends Arceus only just released, many of us weren’t expecting to see another major Pokemon game for the Switch in 2022. As it turns out though, Game Freak has been working on a new generation of Pokemon games – Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet.

Pokemon Scarlet & Violet will be Gen 9 Pokemon titles, adopting a similar open world style to Arceus, with Pokemon freely roaming the fields for you to battle and catch.

The trailer also gave us our first look at the new starter Pokemon for these games, but further details have yet to be revealed.

Currently, both games are scheduled for ‘late 2022’, so we should expect a release date around November, in time for the holiday season. We’ll also get more news on the included Pokemon, new legendaries, gameplay features and the differences between Scarlet and Violet in the months to come.

KitGuru Says: Given how good Arceus was, I had my fingers crossed for an expansion but it looks like we’ll be heading on to new adventures later this year.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
