Elden Ring minimum PC system requirements are surprisingly high

Back in August, reports indicated that From Software's upcoming game, Elden Ring, would have pretty tame PC system requirements. At the time, the game was still six months away from release, so we warned that the requirements were likely to change and now this week, it appears the minimum system requirements have received a significant bump.

In an update to Elden Ring's Steam Store page, the minimum PC system requirements called for an Intel Core i5-8400 or Ryzen 3 3300X, 12GB of RAM and a GTX 1060 or RX 580 graphics card. This is updated from the previous minimum requirements, which called for an Intel Core i5-2500K or AMD FX-6300 CPU, 8GB of RAM and a GTX 770 or Radeon R9 280 graphics card.

The system requirements have since been wiped from the Steam page once again, so there could have been a mistake in the listing. However, with Elden Ring just a few weeks away at this point, From Software will need to confirm its minimum and recommended PC system requirements soon.

Elden Ring is set to release on the 24th of February, promising more classic From Software boss fights, an open world to explore and lore, characters and some story elements written by Game of Thrones author, George R. R. Martin.

KitGuru Says: Given that the system requirements have been removed once again, we may see some more changes. With just 12 weeks left until launch, we should expect finalised PC system requirements next week.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
