Mortal Kombat 12 may have leaked

After NetherRealm Studios released Mortal Kombat 11, most assumed its next project would be a new Injustice game. However, that may not be the case, as an image recently posted on social media by a developer suggests the next Mortal Kombat title is already in development.

According to Comicbook, the photo was tweeted by Jonathan Andersen, a senior production manager at the MK studio, but it was soon deleted. That didn't stop users from downloading the photo and noticing the computer on the back had a file named “MK12_Mast…”. Additionally, there were other files visible on the monitor, including one named “Reptile”, a famous MK character that looks like a ninja lizard.

Although the urgent deletion of the tweet might lead you to believe this was an accident, there was also a message displayed on the screen, probably an email. This message contained excerpts like, “our fans eagerly scrape the internet for any trace” and “take extra care with this material”, which makes it look a bit suspicious. Whether the leak was intentional or not is unclear.

KitGuru says: Would you prefer a new Mortal Kombat or a new Injustice game? Do you think this leak was intentional? Considering Ed Boon's fame for trolling the Mortal Kombat community, we wouldn't be surprised.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
