PS Plus subscribers received almost $1500 worth of games in 2021

Each month, PlayStation Plus subscribers are given a number of games for free. With 2021 coming to an end, we now know the total value of all of the games given away during the year – and it is much more than the $60 price tag for an annual subscription.

With all of 2021’s PlayStation Plus games now having been revealed, Reddit user HarryNohara took it upon themself to calculate just how much value PlayStation Plus subscribers got out of their annual $60 subscription.

With 41 games having been given away across the year, when calculating using all of the games’ base prices, subscribers were given $1477.09 worth of games. This represents a value of almost 2500% greater than the asking price for a year of PS Plus.

That being said, it is worth noting that many of these titles have been on sale in the past, meaning that if you were to take the values of all of the games during their lowest price historically, then the year’s value of games would drop significantly to $681.94.

Even so, this is more than 10x the amount subscribers would have paid for all these titles (assuming they purchased a 12 month subscription plan). Furthermore, PlayStation consistently reduces the price of PS Plus during seasonal sales, meaning that players may have paid as low as $30 for an annual subscription – doubling the value percentages.

2021 has been a great year for PS Plus subscribers, with games such as Shadow of the Tomb Raider; Control Ultimate Edition; Final Fantasy VII Remake; Star Wars: Squadrons; Hitman 2; Kingdoms of Amalur Re-Reckoning; A Plague Tale: Innocence and more all being given away.

Hopefully 2022 is equally as exciting for the service. The full breakdown created by HarryNohara can be found HERE.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
