Diablo 2 Resurrected players hit with major server issues

Over the weekend, Blizzard took down Diablo 2 Resurrected servers to perform some emergency maintenance. Since then, players across the US and Europe have struggled to access the game, with server issues persisting this week.

Blizzard Customer Service social accounts for Europe and the US noted the maintenance and expected downtime over the weekend and apologised for the inconvenience. While servers should have been back to normal by now, players have continued to have issues accessing the game this week, taking to forums to voice concerns.

Diablo 2 Resurrected launched last month to decent critical acclaim from press and fans. The game was developed by the team at Vicarious Visions, which officially became a part of Blizzard earlier this year as part of an internal shuffle of studios to double down on Blizzard franchises and Call of Duty.

Blizzard has yet to provide a timeline for fixing the on-going server issues with Diablo 2 Resurrected, but we would expect an update later today.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
