Leaked Intel mobile consumer CPU roadmap details the Alder Lake-P and M platforms

What seems to be a leaked roadmap referring to Intel mobile consumer CPUs has been posted online, corroborating some rumours. Moreover, the roadmap also shows when production of the Alder Lake mobile platforms will start, giving us an idea of when we will see the first devices equipped with them.

As per the roadmap shared by Wccftech, the Alder Lake-P and M platforms will start to be produced between November 2021 and March 2022 and January 2022 to April 2022, respectively. The first series of processors will be covering the 12-45W range for the mainstream mobile market, replacing the Tiger Lake H45/35 and UP3 series. The Alder Lake-M platform will succeed the Tiger Lake UP4, featuring 7-15W SKUs for smaller mobile devices. The roadmap doesn't include the alleged Alder Lake-S mobile chips.

The roadmap suggests the Alder Lake-P platform will feature up to 14 cores (6x performance + 8x efficient), Xe iGPU with up to 96EUs and support for Thunderbolt 4, DDR5 and LPDDR5 memory, PCIe 5.0 and Wi-Fi 6E. In the roadmap, there's no mention of supporting DDR4 memory, while the desktop Alder Lake platform is expected to support DDR4.

Moving on to the Alder Lake-M platform, it's said that its SKUs will feature up to 10 cores (2x performance + 8x efficient) and Xe iGPUs with up to 96 EUs. Additionally, like Alder Lake-M, it will support Thunderbolt 4, LPDDR5 memory and Wi-Fi 6E, but it won't support PCIe 5.0 devices. Instead, it will be compatible with PCIe 4.0.

We expect to hear more about Intel's upcoming mobile platforms during CES 2022, scheduled for January 2022.

KitGuru says: Considering the production windows, it looks like we will see the first Alder Lake laptops in 2022.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
