AnyPS5 tool targets native PS5 game execution on Windows and Linux

A new open‑source project, AnyPS5, aims to run PlayStation 5 games natively on Windows and Linux without traditional emulation. Listed on GitHub, the tool relinks PS5 executables into native formats for the host OS and reimplements the console’s system libraries for dynamic linking.

Since the PS5 uses standard x86‑64 Zen 2 hardware, AnyPS5 (via Wccftech) avoids CPU emulation entirely. Instead, it focuses on graphics translation, recompiling shaders into SPIR‑V for Vulkan rendering.

According to the project’s status notes, execution can already reach a game’s main function with working exception handling. The developer says internal tests have pushed one title as far as its logo, main menu and early gameplay with audio. No public build is available yet, and the developer won’t release anything until a game can boot fully through the software.

Other PS5 software projects continue in parallel, including KytyPS5, an emulator that recently managed to run GTA5 at up to 60FPS before crashing.

KitGuru says: AnyPS5 is essentially trying to make PS5 games run natively on PC. As impressive as that sounds, it also raises obvious legal questions around system libraries and game executables.
