Crysis Remastered Trilogy gets October release date

Earlier this year, Crytek posted a series of unsubtle teasers for remasters of Crysis 2 and Crysis 3, followed by a full Crysis Remastered Trilogy announcement in June. At the time, Crytek did not announce any specific release dates for the collection, but that changed this week, with the company announcing an October launch date.

Crysis Remastered first released in September 2020 and has improved a lot through patches in the year since launch. Now, Crysis 2 and Crysis 3 will be getting the same treatment, with improved textures and lighting, ray-tracing as well as other improvements brought over through an updated version of CryEngine.

The Crysis Remastered Trilogy is coming to PC as well as consoles, including the Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5 and Nintendo Switch. The trilogy is now set to release on the 15th of October.

On Xbox Series X and PS5, expect a dynamic 4K resolution and 60 frames per second performance. On other platforms, the game will be capped at lower resolutions and 30 frames per second, with the exception of PC, which will have a full suite of configurable graphics options and an unlocked frame rate.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
