AMD reportedly mass-producing Ryzen 6000 ‘Rembrandt’ APUs for 2022 launch

CES is coming up in January and rumour has it, AMD will be in attendance with a new range of Ryzen APUs – the Ryzen 6000H and the Ryzen 6000U. According to reports this week, these APUs have already entered mass production in preparation for a 2022 launch. 

According to Twitter leaker Greymon55, AMD has begun mass production for its next-gen ‘Rembrandt' APUs, with plans to launch in the first half of 2022. Throughout the year, AMD also plans to complete “six new products”, possibly including new Zen 3 processers using 3D V-Cache technology.

Rembrandt APUs are expected to be based on the 6nm-based Zen 3+ architecture. The iGPU is said to be based on RDNA 2 graphics, and the APU should support PCIe 4.0, USB 4, and DDR5 memory. U-series APUs are expected to have a 15W TDP, while H-series APUs should have a 45W TDP with a higher-spec integrated GPU.

For the last couple of years, AMD has been announcing its new APUs at CES, with ‘Renoir' launching at CES 2020 and ‘Cezanne' launching at CES 2021. With that in mind, it seems likely that this trend will continue, with new APUs being announced at CES 2022. However, it is worth noting that release date rumours vary considerably, with possibilities ranging from Q1/Q2 to late 2022.
