Back 4 Blood is getting an open beta in August

Turtle Rock Studios' upcoming game, Back 4 Blood, finally returned to the spotlight last night during Geoff Keighley's Summer Game Fest. During the event, the game's open beta was announced, which is now officially taking place in August.

Turtle Rock Studios has been working on Back 4 Blood for a few years now after moving on from Evolve. Players that want to try the game out early can do so starting in August, as there will be a free open beta, although pre-order buyers will get early access.

The Back 4 Blood open beta takes place from the 12th to the 16th of August. If you pre-order the game though, then you'll get early access starting on the 5th of August. There are also a limited number of early access codes available if you register for the beta, but codes will be limited.

The beta will be available on PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4 and PS5. The game officially releases on all those platforms on the 12th of October.

KitGuru Says: While I am concerned about the microtransaction side of things, I am still looking forward to playing Back 4 Blood. Will many of you be downloading it during the open beta in August?

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
