SteelSeries Rival 5 aims to be ‘the chameleon of mice’

The SteelSeries Rival is back. The new Rival 5 mouse has been designed to be suitable for every genre, thanks to its 9 programmable buttons, TrueMove Air sensor and ergonomic shape. Of course, the mouse gets some extra style points for its RGB LED strips.

SteelSeries calls this the “chameleon of mice” due to its immense versatility. This was achieved by focusing on three key areas during its development: fit, function, and fashion.

The fit is represented by Rival 5's universal and ergonomic shape, suitable for any hand size or grip style. The function is seen in its 9x programmable buttons that users may configure as they wish. For extra visual customisation, there is 10-zone RGB lighting down the sides of the mouse, which is all configurable using PrimSync.

Weighing a mere 85g, the Rival 5 is 30% lighter than Logitech's equivalent (G502). To further enhance the user experience, the Super Mesh cable prevents the mouse from dragging while also makes it feel lighter.

The Rival 5 features a TrueMove Air sensor with up to 18,000 DPI sensitivity, 400 IPS, and 40G acceleration, offering true 1-to-1 tracking even in angled drops, tilt slams, or quick flicks. The button switches are the next-gen Golden Micro IP54 switches, rated for 80M clicks and featuring water and dust resistance.

The SteelSeries Rival 5 is available now for £59.99/€69.99.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
