Star Wars Republic Commando coming to Switch and PS4 in April

It has been 16 years since Republic Commando first released but this year, the highly regarded Star Wars FPS is making a comeback. Not only is the game re-releasing for Nintendo Switch, but it is also coming to PS4.

Republic Commando is a first-person shooter, putting players in the shoes of a clone squad in the middle of the Clone Wars. A re-release was first rumoured a few weeks ago when data was pulled from the Nintendo eShop. Now, the game has officially been announced for Nintendo Switch and PS4.

Star Wars Republic Commando for Nintendo Switch and PS4 is being worked on by Aspyr Media, which has already worked on other Star Wars titles, including both Knights of the Old Republic games and Episode 1 Racer, which also came to the Nintendo Switch recently.

Star Wars Republic Commando originally released on the original Xbox and PC back in 2005. The game remains available on modern Xbox systems via backwards compatibility and is also available on PC via Steam. The Nintendo Switch and PS4 versions are releasing on the 6th of April.

KitGuru Says: Republic Commando is one of my favourite Star Wars games, so I’m looking forward to seeing it on the Switch in particular. Did many of you play this one back in the day? Are you thinking about picking it up for Switch or PS4?

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
