Intel Alder Lake-S processor picture surfaces

A picture of an alleged Alder Lake-S processor has surfaced. This image shows the back of the processor compared to the back of the currently available Comet Lake-S processors, giving us an estimate of its size and a look at some of the physical differences between both architectures.

Intel Alder Lake-S architecture will be the company's first desktop processors based on its 10nm SuperFin architecture. Expected to launch in H2 2021, VideoCardz states that its sources believe that the launch of the Alder Lake desktop processors will be closer to Q4 2020. This is comprehensible given that Rocket Lake-S is scheduled for a release in Q1 2021.

Alder Lake is a hybrid technology featuring big (Golden Cove) and small (Gracemont) cores. Some of its key features include DDR5 and PCIe 5.0 support (not confirmed), a new hardware scheduler to optimise the workloads through the cores, and the introduction of the new LGA1700 socket.

Rumours say that LGA1700 socket is expected to last at least three generations. As per the image shared by VideoCardz, the Intel Alder Lake-S package dimensions will increase from the current solutions to 37.5x45mm, 7.5mm taller than the LGA1200. The first photo of an Alder Lake-S processor shows its back and its 1700 contact pads.

Unfortunately sources haven't shared any specifications of the processor. Additionally, this might be an engineering sample different from the final product.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
