Elite Dangerous Odyssey trailer teases space legs and guns

It has been quite some time since the last major content update for Elite Dangerous but Frontier is far from finished with its massive space sim. This week, a teaser trailer for the next expansion appeared, introducing us to Elite Dangerous: Odyssey.

The announcement trailer was initially posted to the official Elite Dangerous YouTube channel before being promptly removed, indicating that plans for the unveiling aren't completely set in stone yet. For now, this mirror of the teaser is still available to watch:

This is likely going to be a paid expansion for Elite Dangerous, similar to Horizons, which added planetary landings to the game. With Odyssey, it looks like Frontier will be taking things a step further, giving players the ability to leave their ship and walk around atmospheric planets, armed with their own weapons.

If all of this pans out as expected, then Elite Dangerous may double as an FPS game starting in ‘early 2021'.

KitGuru Says: So far, we are just speculating details based on the cinematic teaser but hopefully Frontier will come forward with an official announcement soon. What would you like to see included in Elite Dangerous: Odyssey?
