Global tablet shipments expected to grow 45% in Q2 2020

In the midst of the world feeling the effects of the COVID-19 outbreak, there is a market that is predicted to see noticeable growth – the global market for tablets. It's predicted that the global shipments of tablets will see a 45% increase in Q2 2020.

First of all, the predicted growth in the second quarter should be seen through the lens of what happened in the first quarter of this year. Q1 2020 saw tablet shipments decline by 33.6% as a result of a crippled supply chain. So, the otherwise impressive  45% growth can be seen as the market recovering what it lost in the first months of 2020.

Through the recent twists and turns, Apple remains the largest shipper of tablets – with Samsung coming second and Huawei third. However, Lenovo was successful in snatching the fourth place from Microsoft, something that is said to be the result of Lenovo's focus on educational tablets when many people are learning from home.
