A new NVMe SSD from HP has appeared online

We don't typically think of HP as a storage manufacturer, but the company does have a pre-existing SSD product stack. Now, a new drive has appeared on the HP website known as the HP EX900 Pro M.2 SSD, sporting read and write speed of up to 2100MB/s and 1500MB/s respectively.

HP's initial product sheet offers sparse information with only a few key features being shown. HP EX900 M.2 will support the new NVMe 1.3 protocol over a PCIe Gen3 x 4 interface with a theoretical bandwidth of 32Gbps. The form factor will be M.2 2280 and the SSD will come in three different capacities – 120GB, 250GB and 500GB.

HP EX900 Pro M.2 will be equipped with an independent cache, meaning small files can be temporarily stored in the cache, which saves the SSD from continuous writing, which in turn prolongs the service life of the SSD. With a rated MTBF of 2 million hours, HP is also offering a 3-year warranty with this drive.
