Bungie to overhaul rewards in Destiny 2 and make changes to the Eververse store

Bungie has had some mixed success with its seasonal content plans lately, particularly when it comes to pursuing rare, new or unique gear. This has also led to complaints about the Eververse, which has been at odds with the game's balance for a while.

As part of this week's update from Bungie, the studio officially addressed the Eververse and the need for more ‘aspirational activities':

“As you know, rewards for your character come from a variety of places: Playlists where you find random folks to play with, aspirational activities like Raids, Trials, and Dungeons where you form up a Fireteam, and even Eververse, where you sling some Silver or Bright Dust back at us for items you want. However, in today’s Destiny 2, the balance of the game’s rewards is not where we want it to be. To be blunt, there isn’t enough pursuit out in the world. We’re going to fix it. ”

As part of Destiny 2 Year 4, Bungie will be adding transmogification into Destiny 2, allowing you to turn your favourite armour into universal ornaments. Bungie also plans to deliver an aspirational pursuit for armour each season- for all players, not just season pass holders or people who shop at the Eververse.

Raids, Trials and Dungeons will reward players with power, items and vanity rewards. New armour rewards are also being added to various activities. Finally, beginning in season 12, Bungie will no longer be selling ships, ghost shells, sparrows or armour ornaments in Eververse that are based on themes from aspirational activities, pushing players to participate more in challenging content.

There is a lot more to digest on the full update from Bungie, including changes to Dust, Engrams and rewards in core playlist modes.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
