Silent Hill 2 Remake reportedly coming to Xbox alongside new PS5 Pro patch

Following well over a decade of silence, the Silent Hill series is back and bigger than ever, with the horror franchise seeing back-to-back successes in the form of Silent Hill 2 Remake and most recently Silent Hill F. Unlike the latter entry, Silent Hill 2 Remake never came to Xbox consoles. Fortunately, it appears as though an Xbox port is in the works – alongside a much-requested updated PS5 Pro patch.

Recently, fans noticed that the official Silent Hill 2 Remake page had been updated with additional (though unspecified) platform listings, leading many to believe that an Xbox port is on its way.

In the wake of this, known horror / Resident Evil insider ‘Dusk Golem’ took to Twitter to ‘confirm’ as much, writing: “Bloober Team is getting ready to reveal the Xbox versions of Silent Hill 2 Remake.”

Beyond this however, the insider claimed that “the PS5 Pro patch [will] likely be timed with some announcements, Born From a Wish DLC should be announced sooner or later, & likely Konami is tying it around the window of the upcoming Return to Silent Hill movie based off SH2.”

While Silent Hill 2 was upgraded for the PS5 Pro, its implementation of Sony’s PSSR left plenty to be desired, with a fix promised to be in the works.

Assuming the Xbox port, PS5 Pro patch and the DLC are being tied around the Return to Silent Hill film, then we hopefully should not have to wait too long for an official announcement, with the upcoming adaptation slated to premiere in January of next year.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
