G.Skill Trident Z Royal surpasses 6GHz speeds

We've regularly seen G.Skill memory breaking overclocking records over the summer months. Last year, G.Skill memory was used to set 23 new overclocking records and this year, G.Skill has become the first DDR4 memory maker to surpass 6GHz speeds.

Taiwanese professional overclocker, ‘Toppc', used G.Skill Trident Z Royal and the MSI MPG Z390I GAMING EDGE AC motherboard paired with a Core i9-9900K. Using this setup, DDR4 memory speeds were pushed all the way up to 6016.8MHz, the fastest DDR4 speed ever recorded.

This milestone comes just a few months after Toppc broke the DDR4 speed world record at Computex, pushing G.Skill memory up to 5886MHz. HWBot and CPU-Z validation has been included in the screenshots above.

Tequila Huang, Corporate VP at G.Skill, said that “achieving DDR4-6000MHz has been our goal for quite some time, and we are extremely excited to be able to achieve this major milestone with MSI”.

Now we'll just have to wait and see what the next milestone is, particularly with Samsung now producing A-die memory instead of B-die.

KitGuru Says: Another big milestone for G.Skill that pushes the boundaries of DDR4 even further. It will be interesting to see if this record can be broken in the months to come.
