ASUS announces ProArt PA32UCG with 1600 nits of max brightness and 4K/120Hz

There has been lots of news coming out of IFA this week, particularly where monitors and new displays are concerned. ASUS has taken the opportunity to unveil the next ProArt display, which will rival the Apple Pro Display with a 4K panel, 1600 nits of peak brightness and a 120Hz refresh rate.

The ProArt PA32UCG is the world's first professional 4K monitor that supports 1600 nits of peak brightness and 120Hz simultaneously. It is a 32-inch panel, so it makes good use of that Ultra-HD resolution, the peak brightness also means that HDR content will be top of the range.

The display has 1,152 individual mini LED backlights to achieve precise contrast and support all three major HDR standards, including HDR 10, Dolby Vision and HLG. The display also supports the full DCI-P3 and Rec. 2020 colour bands.

As with all ProArt monitors, these go through extensive calibration before being sent out to customers. The PA32UCG gets an extra dose of attention thanks to a three-phase calibration process. We don't know how much this monitor will end up costing, but we are keen to find out.
