G.Skill DDR4 Memory breaks overclocking records once again

Each year, G.Skill comes to Computex with new RAM modules and a small army of professional overclockers to really push the technology as far as it can go. This year was no different, with G.Skill’s memory used to achieve 23 records last week, including a new world record for fastest DDR4 memory frequency.

The overclocker known as Toppc used G.Skill Trident Z Royal memory on an MSI MPG Z390I Gaming Edge AC motherboard to achieve speeds of 5886MHz, breaking the world record. Right now, the top two results for fastest memory frequency are set be Team MSI using this hardware setup.

Over the course of last week, the G.Skill OC stage was used to set 23 overclocking records in total. Amongst those competing was Kingpin, who broke the world record for 3DMark Time Spy in a quad-GPU set up, using four Kingpin GTX 1080Tis.

Overclocker ‘rsannino’ set the record for Geekbench 3’s multi-core test using an ASUS ROG Dominus Extreme motherboard and a 28-core Intel Xeon W-3175X, coming away with a score of 135,527. Even more records were broken using the ASRock X299 OC Formula motherboard, paired with some of Intel’s high-end Core-X CPUs, like the 16-core i9-9980X and the 18-core i9-9980XE.

KitGuru Says: G.Skill’s overclocking events at Computex are always interesting to follow and each year, we get increasingly impressive results. Congrats to all of the experts that took part this year!
