Bungie now has a new CEO

Earlier this month during Sony's most recent earnings meeting, executives made comments alluding to Bungie losing its independence and becoming more integrated with PlayStation Studios. Now just weeks later, Bungie's long-time CEO, Pete Parsons, has announced that he is leaving the company.

Pete Parsons first became CEO of Bungie in 2016 and was one of the few to remain at Bungie long after the glory days of Halo. Parsons came under fire over the past year after Bungie suffered from multiple rounds of layoffs.

In a blog post announcing the change, Bungie confirmed that Justin Truman will now be acting as CEO of Bungie. Truman is slightly newer at Bungie, having joined the company in 2010, working on Halo Reach, before moving on to Bungie's current flagship IP, Destiny.

As CEO, Truman will now oversee Bungie's upcoming Marathon launch, and future development on the Destiny IP.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
