Path of Exile 2 finally getting new major update

While Path of Exile 2 had a huge launch in December 2024, news around the game has been pretty quiet since. That is finally changing this week with confirmation of the next major version update, bringing the game up to version 0.3.0 with a bunch of new content.

While the new teaser trailers are short on specifics, fans won't have to wait long for answers. The developer has scheduled a full reveal livestream for next week on Wednesday, August 20th, at 9PM BST. The broadcast will feature a deep dive into the new content, followed by the full patch notes and a live Q&A session with game directors Mark Roberts and Jonathan Rogers. As is tradition for these reveals, Twitch Drops will be enabled for viewers on the game's official Twitch channel.

This announcement comes after the game's first major content update, Dawn of the Hunt, received a mixed reception from the community back in April. All eyes will be on next week's reveal to see how Grinding Gear Games has responded to that player feedback. You can tune into the full reveal next Wednesday ahead of The Third Edict's official launch on Friday, August 29th.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
