Latest Philips Evnia gaming monitor boasts OLED panel with 280Hz refresh rate

Philips' Evnia gaming monitor lineup is seeing a refresh with the introduction of the 27M2N6500P, an upgrade to the 27M2N6500 model revealed earlier this year. This new monitor aims to boost refresh rates while offering the same specs as its predecessor.

The 27M2N6500P features a 27-inch QD-OLED panel with a WQHD resolution (2560 x 1440). The key upgrade here is its boosted refresh rate of up to 280 Hz, a step up from its 240 Hz sibling. As expected from a QD-OLED, it boasts a near-instantaneous 0.03 ms response time, alongside a 1,500,000:1 contrast ratio. The display offers 10-bit colour depth, extensive colour coverage (118% Adobe RGB, 100% sRGB, 99% DCI-P3), and a DeltaE value of less than 2 out of the box. It's certified with DisplayHDR True Black 400, reaching a peak brightness of 1,000 cd/m² for HDR highlights, with SDR brightness at 250 cd/m². A ClearMR 13000 certification further validates motion clarity on this display.

For gamers, Adaptive Sync technology is available to prevent screen tearing. The monitor also includes features like picture-in-picture and picture-by-picture modes, a smart crosshair overlay, and three-sided Ambiglow for dynamic ambient lighting. Ergonomically, the stand offers decent adjustability with tilt, swivel, height adjustment up to 130 mm, and pivot functions, plus VESA mount compatibility for alternative setups.

Connectivity options include two HDMI 2.0 inputs, a DisplayPort 1.4, a USB 3.2 hub with two downstream ports (one supporting fast charging), and a headphone output. Note that due to the HDMI 2.0 bandwidth limitation, the display can only achieve 144 Hz refresh rates over HDMI, rather than its maximum refresh rate of 280 Hz.
