ViewSonic to reveal 520Hz OLED gaming monitor at CES

ViewSonic is set to make a splash at CES 2025 with a range of new monitors, including high-refresh-rate gaming displays and professional-grade ColorPro models. However, the real headliners are rumoured to be a 520Hz gaming monitor and a 4K OLED display with dual-mode functionality.

Details are still scarce, but early rumours shared by ComputerBase suggest that ViewSonic's upcoming 520Hz gaming monitor will feature a 27-inch WQHD (2560 x 1440) panel with a 1ms MPRT response time and AMD FreeSync Premium support. This would make it the 27-inch OLED monitor with the highest refresh rate in the market, currently with a 480Hz refresh rate. It's expected that ViewSonic might be using a new Samsung OLED panel capable of 500Hz at WQHD resolution. Whether this will be a QD-OLED panel, like those found in some Samsung monitors, remains to be seen.

ViewSonic is also expected to unveil a 4K OLED gaming monitor with dual-mode functionality at CES 2025. Besides gaming displays, ViewSonic is reportedly planning to expand its ColorPro lineup of professional monitors. These new models are expected to offer 5K resolution and Thunderbolt 4 connectivity, catering to the needs of photographers, designers, and other creative professionals.

We'll see if these rumours come to fruition at CES 2025, which will run from January 7th to the 10th.
