Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. upgrade confirmed for PS5, Xbox and Switch 2

Virtua Fighter 5 received a huge upgrade on PC with Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. but now, Sega is bringing the upgraded game to consoles too. During the recent Virtua Fighter Direct Spring 2025 presentation, it was announced that Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. will be coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series consoles, and the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2.

Alongside the announcement, Sega stated during the presentation that it would introduce cross-play capabilities for Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O., allowing existing PC players to play with the upcoming console players and vice versa. To ensure seamless cross-play support across all platforms, the developers confirmed that all game versions will include rollback netcode for added gameplay stability.

The creators have stated they intend these console releases to be “more than a simple port”, with reports suggesting further material will be added to the game. However, details on this additional content were vague, with players told to wait for future updates for more information. While a specific release date for the PS5, Xbox Series, and Switch 2 versions remains unknown, they are expected soon. Given that the Nintendo Switch 2 is set to launch on June 5th, 2025, there's a strong possibility Sega might aim to release Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. around the launch of Nintendo's upcoming console.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
