Asus ROG announces two new OLED gaming monitors at Gamescom 2023

Asus has introduced a pair of new high-end gaming monitors at Gamescom 2023. The first was the Asus ROG Swift OLED PG32UCDM, a 4K gaming monitor with a QD-OLED panel with a 240Hz refresh rate. As for the second one, it was the PG34WCDM, featuring an ultrawide 34-inch OLED panel with a 240Hz refresh rate.

The Asus ROG Swift OLED PG32UCDM is built around a 32-inch QD-OLED display with a 4K resolution, 99% DCI-P3 colour space coverage, 0.03 ms GTG response time, and a 240Hz refresh rate. In a similar fashion to other Asus gaming monitors, this one features a custom heatsink that keeps its mainboard cool without a fan. Moreover, a graphene film behind the entire panel keeps it cool and comfortable, which Asus claims reduces the burn-in risk.

The lower operating temperatures offered by this cooling solution allow the display to produce and sustain a peak brightness of 1000 nits. The Asus ROG Swift OLED PG32UCDM is fitted with two HDMI 2.1 ports, two DisplayPort 1.4 inputs with DSC, a USB Type-C port with 90W power delivery, and DP Alt Mode. The monitor is expected to become available in early 2024.

Then there's the Asus ROG Swift OLED PG34WCDM, which was also announced this week as part of their Gamescom 2023 showcase. This monitor sports a 34-inch curved OLED display with a 3440×1440 resolution, an 800R curvature, a 0.03 ms GTG response time, and a 240 Hz refresh rate. The display has a peak brightness of 1300 nits and is Nvidia G-Sync compatible.

The Asus ROG Swift OLED PG34WCDM, like the previously announced model, has a custom heatsink to help control the monitor's temperature. In addition, it offers HDMI 2.1 connections, DisplayPort 1.4 inputs, and a USB-C connector with 90W power delivery, DP Alt Mode, and KVM Switch capabilities. PiP and PbP are also supported on the monitor.
