While most 4K monitors on the market currently target a 27-inch panel size, we know a lot of our readers are after something a bit larger to make better use of all those pixels. Iiyama is filling that void this week with the Prolite XB32, a 32-inch 4K monitor at a sensible price.
The full model name for this monitor is actually the Iiyama PROLITE XB3288UHSU-B1, which is going to be impossible to remember. This monitor uses a 31.5-inch VA panel with a matte finish to reduce glare, has a typical brightness rating of 300 cd/m² and a contrast ratio of 3000:1. This is also a 10-bit panel, with 95% NTSC colour.
The XB32 isn’t strictly a gaming monitor, it is limited to a 60Hz refresh rate but if you did want to do some gaming on it, then you will be happy to hear that the response time has been kept down to 3ms. It also supports FreeSync adaptive refresh, which always earns some bonus points, particularly now that both AMD and Nvidia GPUs can make use of the technology.
The Iiyama XB3288UHSU-B1 will be available in the UK shortly for £399.
KitGuru Says: Considering the price, this is a pretty good monitor and at a size that is more beneficial to the resolution. Are any of you thinking about upgrading to 4K this year?
