Powercolor JustSling Review

The Powercolor JustSling is an innovative media device which effectively streams a variety of high definition media content from a source to destination location. It can be used to share static images, video content and even gaming media from room to room.

Within a family environment there are a multitude of practical uses, such as letting other family members play games on the main living room television while watching a bluray disc from a player in the same room, to a television in a different part of the house. We had great success for instance streaming 720p and 1080p content from an HDMI enabled laptop to a 50 inch television in another part of the house.

On a positive note, the transmitter and receiver are small and can be easily hidden out of sight. They also consume very little power, and are completely silent. That said, for dedicated media streaming I do actually prefer the android powered AC RYAN Veolo, but it does target a slightly different audience, generally people who already have a fully featured network in place and who want to watch media on a single television, or monitor.

Pricing of the Powercolor JustSling has yet to be confirmed, although we were informed just before publication that initially the device will be sold primarily to a German audience. We are not sure when it will be available in the United Kingdom.

Pros:

  • bundle is comprehensive, including two HDMI cables.
  • low power drain.
  • noiseless.
  • high quality streaming quality.
  • no drivers needed.
  • easy to set up.

Cons:

  • We prefer the AC RYAN VEOLO for dedicated media streaming across a networked environment.

Kitguru says: A very interesting and diverse product which is well built and painfree to use.
