While the PS5 SKU of Forza Horizon 6 won’t be released until after all other versions, players will be able to benefit from cross-play and cross-saves.

We have known about the Fable reboot being developed by Playground Games since 2018, when Eurogamer leaked early details of the project. As it turns out, Playground actually began its journey towards becoming a multi-project and multi-genre studio a couple of years earlier, following the success of Forza Horizon 3.

Forza Horizon 6 is officially launching on Xbox and PC on the 19th of May, with a PS5 version scheduled to release later this year.

During the Xbox Direct, Playground Games offered a deep dive into the upcoming Fable reboot, confirming that the game will arrive later this year in Autumn.

Ahead of the upcoming Xbox Direct, insiders have claimed that Fable is planned to launch day-and-date on PS5 – though Forza Horizon 6 won’t.

Microsoft has confirmed that they will be hosting an Xbox Developer Direct next month, including a better look at the upcoming Forza Horizon 6.

Despite only being officially announced a couple months ago, Playground Games’ Forza Horizon 6 is reportedly set to launch during the first half of 2026.

Following on from a leak earlier this month, Playground Games has officially confirmed Forza Horizon 6. The game was revealed at the Tokyo Game Show 2025, an apt venue for the announcement, as Forza Horizon 6 will take players to the streets of Japan.

Despite launching weeks later, Forza Horizon 5 has already outsold Assassin’s Creed Shadows on PS5 – currently sitting at 2.2 million copies sold.

According to the former co-founder of Playground Games, Forza Horizon 5 has made more revenue than “Gran Turismo, F1, Need For Speed and The Crew put together.”

Forza Horizon 5 remains one of the few games today which publicly lists just how many players have tried the game out at any given time. Right ahead of the game’s launch on PS5, Horizon 5 was confirmed to have surpassed 45 million total players. Since the arrival of the game to PS5 mere days ago however, player counts have risen by almost 1 million.

Ahead of the official PS5 launch of Forza Horizon 5, the racing title has reached a new major milestone of over 45 million players.

Playground Games has now detailed the PS5 version of Forza Horizon 5, with the Pro console getting ray-tracing on track among other enhancements.

We've known about Microsoft's long-awaited Fable reboot since 2017. Fans were pleased to see the game listed on the release schedule for 2025 but now, just two months into the year, Xbox has revised its plans, pushing the game back to 2026. 

While the rumoured release of Forza Horizon 5 for PS5 has yet to materialise, the game is reportedly still set to come to Sony’s console.
