Ahead of its rumoured release date this month, the ESRB have officially published a rating for the long-awaited Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake.

Following recent leaks, insiders have claimed that Ubisoft’s long-awaited Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake will launch on the 16th of January 2026.

Ubisoft’s Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake has had an unfortunate development. First announced in late 2020 alongside a January 2021 launch date, reactions to the announcement trailer were far from positive, leading the publisher to delay the title. Since then, the Sands of Time remake has been delayed, delayed again, switched developers, delayed, rebooted, and then finally re-revealed in 2024 (with a couple more delays sprinkled in). The journey may finally be over soon however, with the long-awaited Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake said to be launching as soon as this January.

Back in 2020, Ubisoft officially announced and unveiled their remake of the classic Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. Initially planned to launch in early 2021, the game was delayed multiple times and even rebooted – changing development studios along the way. Following confirmation that the remake is slated to release some time during FY2025, Ubisoft has now teased the illusive title.
