Next At Acer: Laptop with a slidable keyboard? ConceptD, new Predator gaming gear and more

LEO has been over in New York this week checking out the Next At Acer event. We've heard all about the new ConceptD range, Nitro laptop refresh and the new Predator gear. Now it is time to hear what the man himself thinks while taking a closer look at all of the new systems.

Acer certainly had a lot to unveil this week. The Predator lineup continues to tackle the high-end, with a new desktop system, a 43-inch 4K/144Hz monitor and two new Predator Helios laptops. The Helios 700 is particularly interesting, as the keyboard can slide forward, opening up extra ventilation and air intake for cooling.

For gamers looking for something a bit more sensibly priced, the Nitro refresh packs some decent specs at under £1,000. Meanwhile, the ‘creative professional' market is being catered to quite well with a ton of ‘ConceptD' devices, ranging from a mixed reality headset, to a dual-Xeon PC.

KitGuru Says: There was certainly a lot to see at Acer's event this week. However, since some of these laptops are using unannounced hardware, many of them were password protected. We'll need to wait for review units to start coming through so we can really put these through their paces.
