Grand Theft Auto VI “Plays Best on PS5” as unique console features officially detailed

For quite some time now, it was expected that Sony and Rockstar / Take-Two would pen a deal in order for the console maker to have exclusive marketing rights for the juggernaut that is Grand Theft Auto VI. With the upcoming title now officially available to pre-order, PlayStation have started their own marketing for the game, confirming that the two companies have worked “together to deliver the best experience on PS5 by leveraging its innovative features.”

Taking to the PlayStation Blog in alignment with Rockstar Games, Sony reaffirmed the recent announcement that Grand Theft Auto VI is now officially available to pre-order, listing the game’s various editions and pre-order content.

Of course, none of this is exclusive to PlayStation. That said, the console maker did take time to share all of the unique features coming to the PS5 version, writing: “Thanks to the close partnership between Sony Interactive Entertainment and Rockstar Games, Grand Theft Auto VI will play best on PS5 by taking advantage of PS5’s immersive features to deliver a deeply engaging single-player experience.”

While most of these features have been present across a majority of PS5 titles, it is still encouraging to have confirmation. With that, the full list of PS5 exclusive features is as follows:

• Advanced Haptics support offering “responsive vibrations”
• Adaptive Trigger support bringing “dynamic resistance”
• DualSense Speaker support “enhanced by haptic feedback”
• Tempest 3D AudioTech with “highly accurate audio positioning”
• Supports the PS5’s “ultra-high speed SSD, enabling you to experience the expansive world of Leonida with near-instant load times.”

Curiously, the blog post does not make any mention of the PlayStation 5 Pro and how it will factor in. Presumably being saved for another blog post – assuming it is indeed PS5 Pro enhanced – players can expect sharper visuals thanks to the use of PSSR 2. As we’ve seen with various Pro Enhanced titles however, the range of improvements can vary, and so we will have to wait and see.

Either way, with the marketing deal seemingly now kicking off in an official capacity, expect to learn tons more about GTA VI between now and its release this November.
