On the single-player front, Remedy Entertainment have gone from strength-to-strength, with the studio’s most recent offerings – Control and Alan Wake II – representing the team’s best work yet. Set to (hopefully) continue its streak of success, the studio is gearing up to launch Control Resonant. Officially arriving on the 24th of September, Remedy have now announced that the game has officially gone GOLD.
Taking to its socials to make the announcement, the team at Remedy Entertainment confirmed that “CONTROL Resonant has gone gold! Get ready to unleash Dylan Faden's paranatural abilities on September 24th.”
For the uninitiated, going Gold means that the Control Resonant master disc has been submitted to Remedy’s publishing division. Discs can then be pressed with finalised software and digital storefronts can upload the 1.0 version of the game ready for release. It’s a process that every game goes through, and means that – aside from post-launch patches and updates – Control Resonant should be complete and ready to play.
Most games typically wind up submitting their gold master within roughly 4 weeks of launch, meaning that Resonant is slightly ahead of the curve in that regard.
Unfortunately, the good news also came alongside some bad, with Remedy revealing that “The physical release date for the game has moved [to] October 15th. We need more time to deliver the physical version to you, but rest assured – nothing stays contained forever.”
Regardless, whether you hop in on the 24th of September or later in October, Control Resonant looks set to be one of this year’s best games.
