The Steam Summer Sale is now live

The Steam Summer Sale has officially kicked off today. This time around, Valve has brought back £5 discount vouchers to save some extra money and a new ‘Point Shop' has been introduced filled with Steam Community goodies.

This time around, whenever you spend £30, Steam will automatically knock £5 off at the checkout. Buying games will also earn you points, which you can use in the new point shop, which contains animated stickers for Steam Chat, new profile avatar borders, profile backgrounds etc. Personally, the DOOM, CS:GO and Witcher inspired animated chat stickers are my favourite of the bunch.

In terms of games, you'll be seeing a wide range of discounts across the board. Half-Life: Alyx is down to £35, Rainbow Six Siege can be found at 60% off, Halo The Master Chief Collection and Red Dead Redemption 2 are 20% off.

Borderlands 3, DOOM Eternal and Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order are all also 50% off currently. You can check out the full sale, HERE.

KitGuru Says: The Steam Summer Sale is always a good time to pick up some extra games. Are any of you planning on picking anything up?

KitGuru Games: Corporate nonsense has put Helldivers 2 in jeopardy as game removed from over 170 countries

It tends to take a lot for gamers to 'forgive' a studio after messing up a launch, for instance CD Projekt Red had to spend three additional years developing Cyberpunk 2077 before many were willing to give the game another shot. In the case of Helldivers 2, despite the game having some rough server issues at launch, the game turned out to be so good that many players simply waited things out, without leaving a trail of negative reviews. Now, a case of incredibly poor communication and a poorly thought-out plan from the game's publisher, Sony, has put Helldivers 2 in jeopardy, with the game being removed from over 170 countries.
