Minisforum launches two NUC-like mini PCs with RTX 30 graphics

Minisforum has been pretty active recently, having launched a couple of mini PC models already this year. The latest mini PCs are a cut above the rest though, featuring Intel Tiger Lake processors, paired with Nvidia RTX 30 series GPUs, all in an incredibly slim package.

There will be two models for now – the NUCX15 and the NUCX17. After looking at the photos (via Wccftech), the first thing we've noticed is the Intel skull logo, usually seen on the company's NUC gaming systems. However, compared to most Intel NUCs, the new Minisofrum mini PCs look considerably thinner, despite their specifications. Such systems will need proper cooling to deal with the generated heat, hence why the casing has a full-vented side panel and a few vents on the rear.

The NUCX15 will likely be the most accessible, as it packs a Core i5-11400H Tiger Lake chip and an RTX 3060 GPU. For the NUCX17, there's a Core i7-11800H Tiger Lake CPU and an RTX 3070 GPU. The remaining specifications are shared between the two models.

Measuring 80x260x394mm, the NUCX systems will support up to 64GB of DDR4 memory and two M.2 2280 SSDs. You can buy the NUCX PCs with or without storage. However, buying with an SSD will have Windows 11-Pro installed. Connectivity interfaces include an HDMI port, an Ethernet port (RJ45) and Thunderbolt 4 port on the rear, a 3.5mm audio-out jack, 3x USB-A 3.2 ports and an SD card reader on the I/O front panel. Pricing and availability is still TBC.

KitGuru says: Compared to most other systems from Minisforum, this looks to be the most “high-end” mini PC. It sure looks like a tempting device for those looking for great performance in an ultra small form factor.
