Nintendo Switch 2 reveal trailer exceeds 30 million views in 72 hours

After years of leaks, rumours and pure speculation, Nintendo finally officially unveiled the Switch 2 in what was ultimately a pretty basic hardware reveal trailer. Despite this, interest in Nintendo’s console appears to be at its peak, currently outpacing both the PS4 and PS5 reveal trailers combined.

With a total of 31 million views across YouTube in its first 72 hours, the Switch 2 hardware reveal trailer is poised to become one of if not the most watched console reveal of all time – assuming its current pace continues.

For comparison, the PS4 reveal received 8 million views in its first 3 days, with the PS5 getting an impressive 20 million during its initial 72 hours – both of which have gone on to become the two most-popular videos on PlayStation’s channel (with 44 million views each).

Beyond this, the Switch 2 reveal trailer has also already amassed over 1 million likes, dwarfing the engagement metrics of Sony’s prior two consoles in its first 3 days (PS4: 150k, PS5: 500k).

If these stats are anything to go by, then the Nintendo Switch 2 is poised to have an explosive launch and could finally see the company break its long-standing ‘sequel console’ curse.
