The Surge and Atlas Fallen studio ‘Deck13’ is working on a brand new IP

Deck13 (not to be confused with Deck Nine) is a bit of an underdog in the video games space. Founded back in 2001, the studio is best known for their more recent releases – specifically the souls-inspired action-RPG series The Surge (as well as the original Lords of the Fallen). Debuting ‘The Surge’ in 2017; and its sequel in 2019; Deck13 would later go on to branch out, releasing their new IP Atlas Fallen in 2023. While the studio has remained relatively quiet since, publisher Focus Entertainment have now revealed that Deck13 are currently working on another brand new IP.

As part of the company’s last fiscal earnings report, PulluP (the parent company of Focus Entertainment) shared some new details on its upcoming releases.

In discussing their plans for beyond FY2026/27 PulluP CEO Geoffroy Sardin revealed that they have “around 15 core projects” in the works – two of which are said to be “new intellectual properties currently being developed by our in-house studios, Carpool Studio and Deck13.”

Deck13 The Surge

As mentioned, Deck13 is known best for developing the well-received souls-likes The Surge and its sequel. That said, the studio has developed a number of original IPs over the years, including Lords of the Fallen and most recently 2023’s Atlas Fallen.

While the latter failed to garner as positive a reception as their past work, Atlas Fallen did receive a pretty substantive update back in 2024 improving many of the game’s aspects.

At that being said, it will be interesting to learn what exactly the team is working on now. Given their planned released schedule however, don’t expect an official unveiling any time soon.
