Overly-ambitious PC-exclusive Samson is coming to consoles alongside update

Every so often there comes a game which presents a great deal of ambition, only for the title to eventually succumb to its own limitations. Such was the case with Samson – a self-published semi-open world action adventure title featuring hand-to-hand combat, vehicle racing and a system in which you try to erase your debts before it’s too late. Launching on PC to mixed reviews earlier this year, Samson is now officially coming to consoles alongside a bunch of promised improvements.

Making the official announcement, the team at Liquid Swords confirmed that Samson will be coming to consoles in just a few weeks’ time on the 21st of September. As mentioned, the game’s initial launch left plenty to be desired, with its PC release currently sitting at a less-than-stellar ‘Mixed’ reception on Steam.

That said, the game itself did have some promise, and so in an effort to build upon the original release, the team have confirmed that Samson’s console launch will arrive alongside a suite of new additions.

Unfortunately, we did not get any specifics, though the team have promised to “announce our next content update soon” stating “we are also adding a bunch of new, exciting things in the PC version of the game – representing arguably our biggest update so far.”

While much of what was shared is rather vague, Liquid Swords do appear committed to the project, claiming that “We have plenty of ideas for how Tyndalston and Samson could grow” while also confirming “additional story content is among the ideas we are exploring.”
