AMD Phenom II X6 1100T Black Edition Review – overclocking performance

So far we have been concentrating on the AMD Phenom II X6 1100T's overclocking performance results with a handful of bios configurations at various clock speeds and voltages.

We wanted to show some comparisons with the Intel Core i7 950, clocked to 3.8ghz with a 0.18 voltage increase.

The AMD Phenom II 1100T Black Edition outperforms the Intel Core i7 950 with the Cinema 4D rendering engine at the same clock speeds. Two extra physical cores clearly outweigh additional logical cores.

The architecture of the Intel Core i7 950 processor means that even at 3.8ghz, it is able to outperform the AMD solution with a 500mhz clock advantage.

Sandra benchmark tests show a mixed bag of results. The Intel Core i7 950 has considerable Arithmetic power but falls behind with floating point throughput and Cryptography calculations.

The Core i7 950 delivers stronger performance with Studio Max at the same clock speeds.
