Sapphire HD5850 Toxic 1GB Video Card Review

Overclocking the card properly means we need to look elsewhere for software and although ATI supply Overdrive within the driver it does not allow us to crank the card to the maximum speeds we can achieve. We used the combination of MSI Afterburner and AMD GPU Clock tool which means we can enhance both clock speeds and increase the fan speeds of the card.

We were stunned to see such a HUGE overclock on an already overclocked card! Getting 910 core out of a HD5850 is an incredible result. Crysis Warhead gained about 8 fps from this overclock and temperatures only increased by around 7c – hitting 69c under load … still less than the reference card at reference speeds!
