Patriot Viper VP4100 1TB PCIe 4.0 SSD Review

The ATTO Disk Benchmark performance measurement tool is compatible with Microsoft Windows. Measure your storage systems performance with various transfer sizes and test lengths for reads and writes. Several options are available to customize your performance measurement including queue depth, overlapped I/O and even a comparison mode with the option to run continuously.

Use ATTO Disk Benchmark to test any manufacturers RAID controllers, storage controllers, host adapters, hard drives and SSD drives and notice that ATTO products will consistently provide the highest level of performance to your storage.

Officially, Patriot rates the drive's Sequential read/write performance as up to 5,000MB/s and up to 4,400MB/s respectively. Using the 3.05 version of the ATTO benchmark the drive produced a read score of 4,705MB/s with writes at 4,396MB/s. While both these figures are a little shy of the maximum official figures, they are still the fastest ATTO score we have seen for a consumer M.2 SSD by quite some margin.

We will soon be switching over to the 4.0 version of the benchmark for NVMe drive testing so we tested the Viper VP4100 with it to see what kind of performance figures the drive produced.
