CyberPower Infinity Xtreme Cube Review

The CyberPower Infinity Xtreme Cube is a powerful system which can handle the latest game engines at resolutions up to 1600p. Thanks to the adoption of an Intel Core i7 5820k processor running at 4.2ghz this rig can easily handle more CPU intensive tasks, such as 3D rendering and video editing.

CyberPower have not used a large super tower case to house the hardware – instead opting for the rather diminutive Corsair Air 240 case. We reviewed this case last year and rated it highly – it can house high end components and offer enough air flow to keep them cool.

That said, this system can get rather noisy under load, but by changing the fans for higher grade models from Corsair, Noctua or be quiet! emissions could be reduced further. Due to the limited physical space inside the case attention to ensure adequate air flow is critical.

Cyberpower decided to take a different route with this system build, including the 400GB version of the Intel 750 (which we reviewed in April this year over HERE). Unfortunately due to a BIOS setting within the Gigabyte X99M Gaming 5 motherboard, performance was not able to hit the limits of the hardware but we have detailed (with pictures) how to fix this. earlier in the review. We passed over this feedback to Cyberpower – but if you already own this system with the Gigabyte board then we recommend you ensure this setting is changed.

You can buy this system direct from CyberPower over HERE. Total cost, as reviewed is £1992.20 inc vat.

If you wish to game at Ultra HD 4K resolutions, then we suggest you budget a little extra for the graphics card. CyberPower offer GTX980, Titan X and R9 295X2 upgrades to further enhance the gaming experience.

Some deals for our readers! £78 off the system (combination CPU / MB and SSD) is £78 cashback from Intel HERE. Also a Free copy of Batman Arkham Knight from Nvidia: HERE

Pros:

  • ideal for space restricted locations.
  • powerful enough for 1080p, 1440p and 1600p gaming.
  • overclocked 5820k can handle 3D rendering and video editing.
  • Intel 750 drive is lighting quick.

Cons:

  • BIOS setting needed changed to get max performance from Intel 750 PCIe drive.
  • The mechanical hard drives are likely to be used as mass storage, so Raid 0 seems risky.
  • GPU upgrade needed for 4K gaming.

KitGuru says: If you want a small, powerful system for both gaming and work related duties then the CyberPower Infinity Xtreme Cube deserves some serious attention.
