2019 is already shaping up to be another great year for Monster Hunter: World. Not only will the game be getting a Witcher 3 crossover, but Capcom has also announced the first full expansion, ‘Iceborne’.
The Iceborne expansion will bring along new high-rank quests, new monsters, new map areas, new moves and new equipment to play around with. As the name suggests, we’ll be taking on much colder monsters this time around.

The Iceborne expansion unfortunately won’t be out until ‘Autumn 2019’, so there is still quite a lengthy wait ahead. If anything, I’m surprised that this announcement wasn’t made during The Game Awards, particularly since Capcom had some stage time after winning ‘Best RPG’ for Monster Hunter: World.
Prior to the expansion’s launch, Monster Hunter: World will continue to be supported with special events. The first of which will see Geralt of Rivia appear in the game to take on a series of quests.
KitGuru Says: Monster Hunter: World is a lot of fun and is still full of active players. Hopefully Iceborne will just be the beginning of future expansion content. Are any of you still playing Monster Hunter? Will you be coming back for next year’s expansion?
