Nvidia Shield update adds 1080p 60 FPS streaming

Nvidia is updating everything at the moment, last week Nvidia users got a new driver update, yesterday the Geforce Experience got an update and now the Shield handheld is also getting some improvements.

When the Shield's console mode was launched back in October, it could only stream 720p gameplay at 60 frames per second to a HDTV which isn't bad for lower end users, but this new update will allow them to stream officially supported games to their TV's in full 1080p glory. Officially supported games include:

• Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag
• Batman Arkham Origins
• Battlefield 4
• Bioshock Infinite
• Borderlands 2
• Crysis 3
• Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

More games will be added on a weekly basis but remember that game streaming is limited to Kelpler based GPU's- so anything from the GTX 600 series and upwards.

With all of these PC gaming features, you might forget that the Shield is still an Android console so for those of you who like Android games, there's an update for you too. You'll now be able to map touch screen controls to the handhelds buttons and thumbsticks, you can also change motion controls to physical inputs.
