Destiny The Final Shape is the highest rated ‘game’ of the year

Over the past year or so, Destiny has received an increasing amount of criticism, with fans seemingly growing tired of the almost 7-year old game. The delay of the game’s concluding expansion The Final Shape didn’t help Destiny’s perception either. It seems as though it was worth the wait however, as The Final Shape has become the highest rated ‘game’ of the year so far – reaching universal acclaim status.

With a Metacritic score of 92 and an OpenCritic of 93, Destiny 2: The Final Shape is not only the highest rated ‘game’ of the year so far, but the highest-rated entry in the Destiny series.

As mentioned, The Final Shape represents the end of Destiny’s Light and Darkness saga, which has been going on since the beginning of the first game back in 2014, and so it is welcome to see that the team at Bungie seems to have stuck the landing.

That said, with Bungie forgoing expansions in favour of a new DLC model moving forward however, it’ll be interesting to see whether they can maintain the momentum.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
